DIGIMON UP Is Here: Bandai Namco's New Free Mobile Raising RPG

October 07, 2026

If you've been craving a fresh, low-pressure way to raise a Digimon on your phone, Bandai Namco Entertainment has quietly delivered exactly that. DIGIMON UP — a free-to-play Digimon mobile RPG — launched worldwide for iOS and Android on July 15, 2026, after being announced at DIGIMON CON 2026 in March of the same year.

The game is built around the tagline "A Digimon journey that moves with your life," and that sums up the design philosophy nicely. DIGIMON UP is an idle / raising RPG: you hatch a partner Digimon from a Digi Egg and raise it toward higher forms — all the way up to Mega Digivolution — and your partner keeps growing even while you're away from the app. For players who loved the slow, nurturing rhythm of the classic V-pets but don't have hours to babysit a screen, that's the whole appeal in one sentence.

Visually, DIGIMON UP goes its own way: the game ships with brand-new pixel-art sprites created exclusively for this title, rather than recycling old artwork. It also folds in familiar franchise pieces to keep things feeling properly Digimon — Digivices appear as an upgrade layer, and the Digimon Card Game shows up as "Digicards" you can use to strengthen your team.

The loop is straightforward monster-raising RPG. You train and bond with your partner, recruit Support Digimon to fight at its side, battle wild Digimon roaming the world, and challenge other players through the game's online Battle Terminal. Expect to meet a wide, familiar cast — Agumon, Gekomon, Numemon and plenty more — each with its own growth path.

A few honest notes for prospective players. DIGIMON UP is free to play but monetised with paid items, and its app-store listing flags in-app purchases that include random-item purchases (loot-box style) used to speed up progression. Pre-registration opened in May 2026 ahead of the mid-July launch. It's a Bandai Namco title, so the licensing run — © Akiyoshi Hongo, Toei Animation, Bandai Namco Entertainment — is the usual official one.

If you're coming over from the virtual-pet side of the hobby (our sister fan hub tama.fdhcl.com covers raising virtual pets), DIGIMON UP is worth a look as one of the most accessible modern takes on monster-raising — a gentler, mobile-first sibling in spirit to the kind of raising gameplay longtime fans first met on a little egg-shaped device. Raise well, Tamer.
